Symptoms of Bed Sores

Bed Sores are classified into four stages, depending on the severity of skin:

  • Stage I is the superficial irritation on the surface of the skin
  • Stage II is the intense condition, the skin blisters
  • Stage III here the skin thickens
  • Stage IV it gets deeper, often reaches to the muscle

Bed Sores Symptoms

Stage I: In the first stage, redness of the intact skin is noticed which may cause pain. The skin texture may also turn out to be firm.

Stage II: In this stage, the skin breaks down slightly that looks like a blister.

Stage III and IV: The risk for infection or tissue death is high. Here the wound gets deeper and extends to the muscle or bone.

Prompt medical attention is required whenever you notice that your skin turns black or becomes inflamed, tender, swollen, or warm to the touch. You must see a doctor specially when you notice a sore containing pus.
