Dermatitis is a skin disorder which is a great cause of concern for many. Exfoliative dermatitis is a severe inflammation of the entire skin surface due to a reaction to certain drugs, or a complication from another skin condition. In certain rare cases, lymph node cancer can become a cause for this skin disorder. Like all forms of dermatitis no certain cause can be determined.
Symptoms of Exfoliative dermatitis
Exfoliative dermatitis can be identified if some of the following skin conditions appear. However, each individual may experience symptoms differently:
- Extreme redness of the skin
- Scaling
- Thickening of the skin
- Itching
- Swollen lymph nodes
- Recurring fever
- Loss of fluids through the damaged skin
The symptoms of exfoliative dermatitis are similar to other dermatologic conditions. So it is a preferred option if you see a dermatologist. They can better advise you on the treatment.
Treatment Exfoliative dermatitis:
Severe cases of generalized exfoliative dermatitis may require hospitalization while the person is being treated with antibiotics, intravenous fluids, and nutritional supplements.
There are certain drugs that are a cause for this disease so if you stop using those irritants it usually clears up your skin problem.
