Sensitive Skin Care

In cases where the skin is sensitive it is usually thinner then normal skin, thus making it sensitive to both hot and cold weather. It sunburns and windburns easily. Commonly it is dry and is prone to allergic reactions. Rapid temperature changes, deodorants, cosmetics can all cause the skin to irritate. The following are some things that you need to avoid in order to be free from irritation to the skin.

Choosing Make up:

When choosing makeup, moisturizers and sunscreens make sure they are hypo-allergenic and fragrance-free. Also buy oil free products and use water based cosmetics. Before buying a product always check it out on your wrist to see the reaction.

Avoid over Make up:

Try to avoid make up as much as you can, and when applying make up minimize the amount that you use.

Face Wash:

Washing your face too often could damage your skin. So don't exceed it to more then two times a day, and that with a mild soap free cleanser.

Astringent:

Apply astringent on the areas of your skin that you think are oily. It may cause redness however, in which case you should discontinue.

Sunscreen:

Try avoiding the sun as much as you can, and use oil based gel. This should be a minimum SPF of 15.

Salicylic acid:

USe cleanser with salicylic acid to help exfoliate pores. Salicylic acid also comes in moisturizers which is beneficial for your sensitive skin.
