Warts on Hands

Warts are very common skin disorder faced by teenagers mostly. Hand warts are very common and are caused by a virus called HPV which is the cause of many other skin viruses and all other warts. Hand warts make up a few strains of the wart virus. There are over 80 different strains of the warts virus and therefore warts can be found anywhere on the body. The virus may be in the body and might be looking for better conditions to flourish.

Hand warts are contagious and can be passed from one person to another, even though the carrier of the virus actually may not have any visible existence. The virus can lay dormant in the body for months without any warts surfacing. This makes HPV one of the fastest spreading viruses known today. In fact, in America there are millions of new cases brought forward every year.

Symptoms:

Hand warts appear as growths or bumps on the hands they vary in color from shades of red, to natural skin color or white. There sizes and shapes also vary a great deal. Two of the most frequently found strains of hand warts are common warts and flat warts. Flat warts are obviously flat and are found in groups or clusters on the hands. They are very small (normally about the size of a pinhead).

Treatment:

Warts if not treated properly may resurface later. Like when creams and ointments with chemical base are used, they burn and freeze warts but the warts come back. You should let your dermatologist examine your wart and then devise the proper treatment.
